A small group of Sixth Form students went on a wild camping and hiking trip in the Easter break, when a friend they were with (who has Type 1 diabetes) became acutely unwell. The students responded with remarkable maturity and decisiveness, seeking assistance from emergency services.
Despite their friends initial reluctance to seek medical help, they trusted their judgement and acted in their friends best interests, getting him the help he needed in challenging circumstances. Their actions were instrumental in safeguarding their friends life. The friend spent several hours being stabilised in hospital and has made a good recovery.
We always strive for our Sixth Form students to be role models in school and our community; Rowan, Kavi and Adam certainly did that!
Well done we are very proud of you!
