Our sixth form provides a structured and supportive environment where students flourish and develop the skills needed to go on to be successful in their chosen careers, training and/or higher education. We place great emphasis on academic achievement. We offer a full range of qualifications including A-levels and Level 3 vocational courses. We encourage students to broaden their experiences and to involve themselves in the school community including compulsory in-school mentoring and compulsory work-related learning.
Whatever future plans you may have at this stage, we strongly recommend that you keep your options open by joining us and seeing what we have to offer.
| December 2024 - January 2025 | Year 11 assembly and tutor time | Students find out about our Sixth Form, the subjects offered and opportunities for extracurricular involvement to start the process of applying to our Sixth Form. |
| 16th January 2025 | Year 11 into 12 Open Evening | Talk in the main school hall and visit subject teachers |
| Thursday 6th February 2025 | Deadline for application submission. | |
| March- May 2025 | Year 11 Post-16 discussions | Students may be offered an interview if any clarification regarding their application is required. |
| After Easter 2025 | Conditional Offer letters to all students. | |
| May - June 2025 | GCSE Exams | Best of luck! |
| 7th & 8th July 2024 | Year 11 into 12 Induction Days | Students attend taster sessions, get to know the school and staff and meet their Form Tutor. |
| 21st August 2024 | GCSE Results | Collect GCSE results, then come to meet the Sixth Form Team or a member of the Senior Leadership Team to confirm your final option choices. |
| SUMMER TRANSITION TASKS: Transition tasks to be handed in during the first lesson for each subject. | ||
| 3rd September 2025 (tbc) | Term begins | Students check timetables ready for the new term. |
| September 2025 | Early Assessment | All subjects will carry out an early assessment which will be based on transition tasks and first few weeks of subject content. |
| Mid-September 2025 | Information Evening | A presentation by the Sixth Form Team on use of data and settling in process for Year 12. |
