SEND Clinic - Girls & ASD

Alison Redfern (LEARN SEND Hub) facilitates this training.

A Practical Clinic for Educators & Pastoral Leaders

Are you seeing the full picture? Girls with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) often present differently than their male peers, leading to missed opportunities for support. Join our focused online session to bridge that gap with practical, classroom-ready strategies.

Designed for Teaching Assistants, HLTAs, Teachers, Pastoral Leaders, and SENCOs.

The session will explore:

  • The ASD landscape - A brief overview of core characteristics and how they manifest.
  • A rationale for focusing on girls.
  • The “Hidden” Profile - Insights into the female ASD brain and why these girls are often harder to identify.
  • Practical Support - Advice for supporting girls who are diagnosed or currently navigating the path to discovery.
