Working with colleagues from a range of primary settings to develop a year 1 ready transition programme that explores the theory and evidence base supporting effective transition, teaching and learning strategies, assessment for learning and the learning environment.

For this course it is recommended that a teacher from both Reception and Year 1 attend so they can work together to create a plan which is ready to put into action when they return to school.

Course Aims

• To help staff reflect on their school's current strengths and weaknesses
• Explore any gaps between the EYFS outcomes and year 1 framework and approaches to implement to close the gaps 
• Develop a transition programme to ensure continuity between the two phases
