Introduction to Protective Behaviours Training - Session 1
Protective Behaviours (PBs) is an internal process where each person applies the ideas to their own unique experience.
The training facilitated by Ann Seal, will provide an introduction to the Protective Behaviours Process’ which is used in many ways. Including:-
· abuse prevention · bullying prevention · managing challenging behaviour · counselling · staff development |
· crisis intervention · policy development · crime prevention · assertiveness training · parent support work |
· restorative justice · conflict resolution · mediation · conferencing |
Because of the universal ‘we all’ in PBs it can be used by anyone irrespective of their ability, belief system, colour, gender, sexual orientation, profession, age, physical or mental abilities. The training is suitable for both Primary and Secondary school staff.
Course Objectives:
- Attendees will have an understanding of the Protective Behaviours (PB) Process and how it may be practised in their schools to support excellent safeguarding, trauma informed and responsive practice.
- Attendees will learn how the PB process links with restorative practice/ Thrive/ Steps/ Emotion coaching/ PACE and reinforces other good practice the school has to support pupil and staff well-being.
- Attendees will be able to begin to consider how to safely and robustly introduce Protective Behaviours as a whole school approach.

Tuesday 22nd February 2022 4-5.30pm
