The Foodbank is appealing for donations as more people than ever are turning to them for support with emergency food in times of crisis.
In Towcester in October they provided food for 232 people, of which 106 were children, the year before in October it was 132. An increase in 100 people year on year.
Priorities for donations are protein with meat at the top of the list; e.g. ham, corned beef, or any other tinned meat. Also tinned vegetables, tea, coffee, rice, pasta, biscuits, tinned fruit and cereal.
There are 46 people who currently volunteer for the Towcester Food bank who give their time to support your donations getting to the people who need them. They are willing to collect donations or
donations can be dropped off at St Johns Ambulance Hall, Tues 12pm-2pm amd Fridays 10am -12pm.
