A group of our year 8 and 9 students went away to St Omer in March. Their visit started off at Les Chocolats de Beussent to learn about chocolate production, followed by settling into le Château including games of pool, table football and table tennis.
Day two began with le petit déjeuner Français; a traditional French breakfast experience, to fuel up for a day of experiences at Nausicaa Marine Centre, Boulogne-sur-Mer and Le Touquet. The weather over the week was lovely and students (and staff) had a fantastic time, with lots of opportunities to hear and speak French.
Days 3 & 4 started with exploring The Cite Souterraine (The Underground City) before some time in Amiens. In the evening almost all students tried snail and cheese tasting! Before making the journey back home, students visited Boulangerie Escoeuilles, conducted entirely in French, where they learnt about traditional bread making, and even got to shape their own bread.
A fantastic trip, student engagement and behaviour was exceptional throughout!
